I Love My City

London is beautiful.

The water in the Thames, mmm maybe not so much - but the rest of it, stunning.

Last weekend one of my favourite people on planet earth came down to London to visit for the weekend, and we essentially just wandered around London, starting at Spitalfields Market and working our way around to Shoreditch, Southbank, Trafalgar Square and Covent Garden. All in all it was a beautiful (although excruciatingly hot) day and I had a lot of fun with my friends from University.

My friend Rosie and I also reaaaaally wanted to try out the Boris Bikes, and they were so much fun! We went on a little adventure around Hyde Park and it was great! I always forget what good exercise cycling is until you cycle for more than 10 minutes.

Here are some pictures from the day, and yeah I know, all my friends are irritatingly beautiful and photogenic and don't even get me started.

...and a nice little night cap before setting off home! We devoured these in minutes because cycling had made us so hungry!

Here's a song I've been listening to a lot lately!

Until next time!

Wanderlust

I don't think I've always liked travelling. I used to hate sitting on a plane for hours, the takeoff used to give me an earache, waiting for my luggage seemed to take a millennium, and time changes used to confuse and tire my young mind.

However, as time has gone on, and instagram has arrived in my life, as well as blogs, I've become a lot more interested in travelling, and seeing more of the world. So far, in my twenty short (I feel old who am I kidding) years of living, I've been to France, Belgium, Italy, Russia, Nigeria, America, and Sweden. Most of those can be easily explained, regular tourist spots, going to visit family etc etc...but Sweden?

Let me explain...
So when my sister and I were younger, we had an au-pair (google it) named Emma, who was Swedish and just generally awesome, as was her boyfriend at the time Johan. We grew up knowing them and seeing them as part of our family. So when Emma and Johan got married, my sister and I flew to Sweden and were Emma's bridesmaids. Since then we've visited each other back and forth and Emma and Johan now have four beautiful (and painfully adorable) children, and now that my sister has moved there, I have even more of a reason to visit!

I haven't really had a summer holiday since I started University two years ago, and this summer was about time. So naturally, I went to Sweden.

It. Was. Amazing. It always is, but I never really experienced a Swedish summer in all its hot glory, so it was nice to be able to enjoy the heat for once. When I was younger I pretty much hated any other activity that wasn't sunbathing or shopping whilst on holiday. However as I've grown up, and matured (obviously, duh), I discovered that sunbathing can be incredibly mind-numbing after a while, and shopping is only so much fun. Nowadays, I am a culture kinda kid, I love to visit historical sites, stand by the rivers and watch boats pass, discover old parts of the city, or just sit on a bench and watch the people rush around you. Its a lot more fulfilling than doing something I could do on a hot day at home.

So in that spirit, here are a few (of about 300+) pictures I took whilst in Stockholm; and yes, I'd definitely recommend that you visit. Its worth it.

As you can see, I got up to quite a bit, and Stockholm is a very picturesque city.

I'll be back soon!

Here's a song that I've been listening to recently, its not new but its definitely a favourite. Enjoy!
